I celebrated my "30th" birthday (again ๐ at Tonic in NYC KARAOKE!! (me, Chrissi, Catherine W. and Jonesy, not pictured, too)
Santiego, from "hand of god" Argentina. He is a drummer in a rock band, he hung with us for a while. Pretty dude eh?
So NYC is cold again. We were lucky and had a couple SUPER warm days, but the leg warmers went back on today, omfg. FREEZIN'. I went for my MRI the other day of left knee and will go Monday to ORTHO Doc to have him analyze it and tell me which surgery I will need. NOT looking forward to that!
So I had to buy a new Mac, the latest one they have, Snow Leopard program, goes SUPER FAST, it's like butter!! Still keeping old one though, one can never have too many Mac Book Pros!! They truly are the best. I bought a new one as the old one had a keyboard issue and I THOUGHT I would have to go without it for a week but APPLE called 18 hours after I dropped off old one for repairs saying it was ready for pick up. DAM those folks are good. But as I said, this new one is miles faster. I JUST need to learn how to use iMovies and I will be happy.
Been spending LOTS of time with Jasmine since I have been back and that is always a good thing. So strange, when I am in Berlin I feel at home there and don't want to leave. Same thing happens when I am here in NYC. BUT then my heart yearns to live in England, it always has and always will. I know it is expensive and dangerous too, but I just love England. Perhaps the grass is always greener and I wouldn't like it if I lived there. Last time I massaged Simon Cowell, it was in Birmingham and I told him I would love to just move there and stay and he freaked out and said "Good Lord Dot, not there, London is the place for you!". ha.
"Chasing Amy" is on TV. Great movie. This film made my ex EXTREMELY uncomfortable, guess it hit too close to home (about a guy dating a HOT chick and his best friend being bitchy and trying to break them up, turns out his friend is secretly in love with him) heh heh.
NYC is still fun and there is karaoke every single night in more than one place but I don't like to go out more than once a week (if that). Dealing with drunks is just annoying. Got a Spinning bike and treadmill at my flat now and weights (who needs to join a gym?). Plus I have more than enough writing to do. At the end of the day (which for me is around 5 or 6 am) I am so exhausted from answering emails that I never get around to writing the books I want to write (& Blog) and have to REALLY dig deep to find the time to write my sex columns (I LOVE helping folks but turning all the Q & A's into a tidy column is not as easy as you may think).
Trying out something new- writing this while on new spin bike- working ok so far. Just hate sitting still for too long, which is a problem as most of my work is done online coordinating massages and answering people's love/relationship/sex questions. LOTS of time on ass in front of computer and I hate it.
Gota go, sweating is NOT good for the new Mac.. by the way, how HOT is Madonna lately? SCHWING! You go girl!!
x
ps. Follow me on twitter, I write on there much more often than here as I can do so anywhere:
Editor’s Note: The following article is reprinted from the Today @ PC World blog at PCWorld.com.
For the past week and a half, several thousand Facebook users were unable to access their accounts because of a technical issue with a server. The outage silenced .05 percent of Facebook users, or 150,000 people, which may not seem like that many, considering that Facebook now has over 300 million users. But if this could happen to even a small percentage, what’s to say it couldn’t happen again to even more users of the world’s largest social networking site?
The affected Facebook users are slowly seeing their accounts restored, though some profile data may have been lost. Facebook itself was silent on the matter until Monday, when it gave CNET the skinny, saying the issue was caused by “a technical issue with a single database.” Facebook also iterated that it had nothing to with “hackers or other malicious activity.”
Facebook spokeswoman Brandee Barker gave a boilerplate statement that included the usual apologies and assurances that the outage would be repaired as soon as possible. “Our engineering team has worked around the clock, and as of [October 12], all of these users should begin to regain access to their Facebook accounts.”
According to CNET, affected users also received this message: “You may not have been able to access your account over the last several days. We’re sorry for this inconvenience; an extended technical issue affected a small number of Facebook accounts, including yours. We have done our best to restore your account to its most recent state, but some data and settings may not be current. In order to be cautious, we defaulted some of your privacy settings to their most restrictive settings. You may wish to review your privacy settings and reset them.” As you see, Facebook was not specific as to what “some data and settings” actually includes.
It doesn’t sound as though the data and update loss were catastrophic or anything more than just annoying. However, the outage highlights the potential fragility of Facebook. If one server fail can affect 150,000 people, what would happen if three servers crashed? Paranoid thoughts, perhaps, but as Facebook grows and becomes more integrated with ordinary people’s lives and with businesses and corporations, the security of the site becomes a public matter of great importance.
That this server failure wasn't widely reported is also distressing. Facebook should be more upfront with its technical difficulties and, in light of this incident, once again bolster security measures not only to decrease the likelihood of reoccurrence, but also to keep the more crucial meat of people’s profiles away from exposure.
Eric Danville is a friend and my editor/boss at Penthouse Forum magazine (that host my sex column "Calling Dr. Dot").
Eric wrote this book here The Official Heavy Metal book of Lists, which I contributed to. The book release party was October 1st 2009.
It was a blast.. the book is SUPER fun, grab a copy. My pages are 106-109.
Since Eric is also my Penthouse editor I decided to come dressed in my Dr. Dot costume..
I brought my very close friend, Chrissi with me. She is always a million laughs (AND she loves karaoke too, just like me)
Got Milk?
From Left to Right: Cliff Mott (illustrator of the Heavy Metal Book of Lists), me and Eric Danville (author/editor/friend)
The book release party was held at the Double Down Saloon and it was naturally a freak show, as it always is in the Lower East Side, yes! ๐
Not sure what Ass Juice is but I am sure it taste YUMMY
Finally got to meet my Editor assistant of Penthouse Forum, Jenn – after soooo long working together per email.
I was lucky enough to have an illustration to go with my Heavy Metal List- Cliff Mott did the honors… I like!! You can find my pages on 106, 107, 108 and 109.
Congrats Eric, the book ROCKS!!! Thanks for giving me a copy, Chrissi and I dug into it over waffles at the diner and laughed our heads off- good stuff!!
I like to meet and trade massages with everyone on my team so when Alice, one of my Atlanta Dot Bots told me she would be in NYC when I landed, we agreed she would pick me up from airport and sleep over a few nights so we can get to know each other. She was born in Cuba, raised in the USA. She is SUPER nice and friendly- very honest and kind hearted. I was so FUCKING tired but wanted to show her around when I landed…
There we are in Hoboken ^ย
Alice is a fitness trainer and Licensed Massage therapist. She loves to dress very girly when she isn’t working. She doesn’t smoke or drink either and eats VERY healthy so we have a lot in common. When she told me she loves to sing and enjoys karaoke, well, then I asked her to stay one more night so we could go sing..
ย
Here is Alice belting out a Heart song called ‘Alone’. She nailed it! It was fantastic. LOVE karaoke but being completely sober at a karaoke bar has it’s drawbacks. So many drunks hitting on us and talking SHIT. We both sang two songs then went home. I sang “You sexy Thang” by Hot Chocolate and also Do ya think I’m sexy by Rod Stewart. Aida also sang an Evanesense (sp?) song but I didn’t know it.ย
Going to a book release party tomorrow (er, today actually as it’s already 6am) for a book I contributed to called The Heavy Metal book of Lists. Should be a kick ass party. They want me to come dressed as “Dr. Dot” so I gotta get my nurse costume out and dust it off. Will take pics

Facebook. Ahhhh, the networking web site you have to join after being nagged about it from all of your friends. I joined, spent HOURS uploading videos and pictures and adding friends or anyone who wanted to be my friend. I added too many I guess because one of them was busy flagging all of my videos and pictures over and over again for no apparent reason. This flagging finally took it's toll and POOF, Facebook account disabled.
1) I feel it is super lame how Facebook allows others to decide the fate of your account, especially without showing you which picture or word was offensive to someone and without telling you WHO this someone is. TOTAL FUCKING BULLSHIT. Coward heaven, innit?
2) They give you no freedom on there. You can't post .gif images (any moving image at all, like this for example)
THIS ^ would NEVER fly on Facebook. One, it is too cool, moving AND could be considered "disgracefull" in the eyes of the Facebook powers that be.
You can't ad color to your Facebook page like you can on myspace, you can't ad MUSIC, which KILLS ME. I can not fucking live without music and want it everywhere I can get it. Anywhere I exist, there has to be ROCK AND ROLL or I flip out.
I emailed Facebook at the address they give you:
"Hi All,
for some reason my account was disabled. I have a hater somewhere on my "friends" list who must be flagging
all of my pictures or something. I feel that Facebook is judging me unfairly and does not look into the matter and just takes the
flagging thing too far.
Please help,
Dot Stein"
and they sent this response:
Hi Dot,

Can you PLEASE email Facebook at:

AND
simon@facebook.com
and say in subject line "Dot Stein's Facebook account unfairly disabled"
and then in the email say something like
"Dot Stein never posts nude or violent images or anything like that, so why disable her?
Some hater was unfairly flagging her, please activate her account again as soon as
possible. It is UNFAIR that other people flagging can disable a person's account so
easily"
PLEASE. I would hate to start all over, jeeze

This is a continuation of my Key West winter 2008 blog. Part one is HERE
(and I wrote about Key West a couple years ago too, if you want to see that BLOG )
Video I made of this trip ^
So, I am staying at one of the Heron House hotels in Key West. GORGEOUS and expensive (the whole area is super pricey). I asked for the quietest room they have and I got the loudest room you can possibly have the first night. If you like quiet, do NOT stay in room 42 of the Heron House. It is directly over the office and the gate and doors are slammed every few seconds. AND it smells of serious mold. They moved me the next morning into another room which is extremely silent, no smells at all and is heaven on earth (squeaky wheel always gets the oil). This above is room 42. Awesome location, but as I said, smelly and loud (but very clean). Manager said most places smell of mold down here as it's so humid.
My feet are loving the sunshine and fresh air. If I could only find a massage here..
|
I can't believe how big the tits are in the store mannequins here. wtf? The times they are a changin' |
Above ^ Duvall street, which is said to be the longest street in the usa (but I heard that about a street in Manchester, NH too.. hmmmm.
I've been here pretty much every night since I have been here. Creature of habit, microphone whore. This place has karaoke every night and the sound and crowd, are kickin'. If you like seafood, you will love it here, but I hate it and stick to the salad.
Brian is the Karaoke DJ, originally from Connecticut (one of the many that "escape" to Key West and start a new life). The dark haired guy got nuts singing "touch me" by the Doors and ripped his shirt off (amazing abs) but the bouncer made him get his top back on right away, booo! hissssss! He is from Ohio and came with his two female buddies (below). I hung out with them but I forget everyone's names.
Originally from Ohio, these cuties now live in Ft. Meyers Florida (they came together with the dark haired fellow up above). I will give them nick names and choose characters from Sex and the City that most suit their personalities. The girl on the left in the brown top would be Carrie, girl on the right (who can sing her ASS off) would be Charlotte for sure. Dark haired bloke, well, he would be Smith. Me? Samantha, of course (apart from the fact I HATE fashion).
Look how sweet Charlotte's feet are.
Even though Charlotte (and Carrie) is a school teacher and dresses really prim and proper, she was whipping that games ASS. Seems like she is no stranger to the rifle. Her voice by the way, is like butter.
Continuing along with the Sex and the city name game, this would be Mr. Big (aka Roderick easier to remember a GIANTS name) sitting on the biggest tree I have ever seen. He joined us. He is from Holland and is about 6' 4" so he towered over us, like this tree. LOTS of Europeans in Key West. LOADS. You would think it would be predominantly Latinos because Key West is closer to Cuba than it is to Miami, but it's not. In fact, Miami is loaded with Spanish speaking folks; not so in Key West. The music scene is really different too. I HATED Miami (lots of disco/techno/house music) and well, I was in on South Beach and it was just a heaving meat market which is fine for some, but I didn't like the vibe. Everyone is too perfect, too on display, too competitive. In Key West, people chill and the music, well, old time rock and roll rules. A bit too much Jimmy Buffet but it comes with the territory. In NYC you hear too much Sinatra; in Key West it's Mr. Buffet. (not a fan of either, although I do respect them).
Me looking like a snotty Fag Hag ^ shopping with Mr. Big (who looks a LOT like a German friend I know named Tarzan).
Typical sight on Duvall street. Anything for a buck. Naked Cowboy, look out, you have competition.
Actually, now that I think about it, I am SURE the real Naked Cowboy goes South for the winter (can't imagine him standing in Times Square at this time of year). THIS picture of the real Naked Cowboy actually looks like he is standing on Duvall street..
Duvall street ^
Duvall street has LOADS of performers, beggars, tarot card readers, body painters, tourist, BARS, shops and homeless folks who left their lives behind to live in which most people call Paradise. The homeless are kind of a drag as if you don't give them spare change, they snap at you and give you shit (try loudly to make you feel guilty). If you are here for a week, you can't give everyone on Duvall street spare change that asks you, or you will soon be on Duvall street begging for spare change too (same thing with Haight street in San Fran)
Most every bar down here has live music all day and all night, 7 days a week and this band was taking a break but their mascot was keeping the guitar case warm. CUTE!
There are free roaming roosters/chickens every where you look and listen here. They are protected by the law and some hate them and some love them. They crow all the time and I think it's sweet, but the locals seem to consider them irritating pests. You will also see several Geckos, Lizards and Cats walking around. This place is like a little zoo. purrrrrrrrrrrr.
A few blocks from my hotel is one of the beaches (Key West is an island, but some areas only have boats- no beach). Anyways, I walked here thinking I could have a swim, but instead I felt I was invading the homeless folks private beach. You can see them napping and hanging around and the men were trying their best to chat me up and get me to hang out and give them money and/or food but I had neither of those on me and just kept walking. They look really weathered and smell of alcohol, I feel really bad for them and wonder what each one's story is. Where they are originally from? How long have they been here? I read in a book I bought called "Quit your job and move to Key West" by Christopher Shulz that the "homeless get around $100 per day so don't feel bad for them as they earn as much as most bartenders do"
Lots of rich people come to play here. They spend their winters here and park their yachts in this area. Big contrast going on. Wealth and homeless. It HAS to get you thinking. If not you are surely numb.
Salt water, I love thee.
I met lots of people here so far and this cutie ^ is one of the hottest women I have ever seen. She is from Russia and a bartender at Ricks. GORGEOUS.
I think Rick's is where all the pretty ^ people hang out (Key West attracts lots of Gay men- I wonder if he is or not?) "How does it feel to be one of the beautiful people?" The Beatles
Lori, a native (aka Conch) loves karaoke too and she and I have been singing together almost nightly since I have been here. I had originally planned to come with a few girlfriends (co-workers too) but no one could get time off or cough up the dough for hotel/flights so I followed through and came alone. BEST way to meet people is to go alone. It doesn't bother me one bit to be alone. I recently told one of my closest friends that I am never lonely or bored and he said "that sounds so cold!". What the fuck ever. If you are happy in your own skin, love your life and have enough to keep you busy, you shouldn't have time to get bored or lonely. Clingy, dependent and lonely does not suit me. Am I a freak? If so, oh well, I am a freak. I don't get lonely or bored. PERIOD. This doesn't mean I don't miss certain loved ones when I am not with them, it just means I enjoy the moment. If that is wrong, then I guess I am wrong. But I can't/won't change.
The bouncer at Two Friends is from Georgia (the country). I showed him the pic of me and his President and since then he has been spoiling me. He asked me to pose with him and also wanted a copy of the pic of his President and I to show his friends back home. Super nice guy.
The DJ at Rick's took this picture of me singing TNT (ac/dc) and just emailed it to me ^

Will work for food? | "there may come a time you can even take your clothes off when you dance" FZ |
Exit Only.
Remember how I said no one really notices Christmas down here? Guess I was wrong ^
But overall, this is the best place EVER to avoid Christmas stress. There are LOADS of Jews down here too by the way (they don't do Christmas either! :).. Straight from Israel too. Most of the shops are owned by them. Great time to get deals as no one is spending. I got a great pair of shorts for $5!
My two favorite places to eat here are The Cafe (amazing healthy, mostly Vegetarian place) and "915" which has the best wine in Key West and the food is DELISH. BUT it is pricey.
After reading more of "Quit your job and move to Key West" I thought about it but one thing would prevent me from ever moving there.. NO CONCERTS! There are tiny cover bands in every bar on every corner, but Ac/Dc or Steve Vai, etc, would never come play there as there is simply no venue for that. Closest would be Miami and I wouldn't want to drive 3 hours or catch a flight each time a band I love or have to work on comes to Miami. Pffft. See how much trouble music can cause? ha ha. Just kidding.
I made a few videos and will string them together once I get back to NYC..
Anyways, gotta run, literally- great place for jogging. OH, this place is perfect for rollerblading and bicycling too (you can rent bikes every where as well as mopeds). NO need to rent a car, the island is only 2 miles by 4 miles. Walk it baby.
UPDATE:
I am back home in NYC now and my stomach is still feeling uneasy. UNFORTUNATELY I didn't get to the part of that book I bought until too late, that explains "All drinking water flows into the Florida Keys within a single 36-inch diameter pipe. Kind of like a giant garden hose". It also explains that the water is tainted with Fecal e-coli bacteria, etc.. hello!! I was drinking the tap water most of the time and my belly felt like there was a war going on inside. NOW I know why. SO if you are heading to Key West, please do NOT drink the tap water.
I decided there are 3 reasons I would/could never move there:
1) No rock stars: NO big concerts- the Who or the Stones would/could never play there. No space.
2) Drinking water is dirty. I drink so much water, I would have to get another full time job just to quence my never ending thirst
3) It is over 90 degrees Fahrenheit every day from May – September and the humidity will make you sweat like a pig the second you leave your house- some say without an air conditioner, you would die.
Oh well, guess I will be one of those winter visitors from now on
x
Venus is now a seven-time Grand Slam champion and she captured her fifth Wimbledon title by beating her sister Serena 7-5 6-4 in a high-quality final. BRAVO!!!
Today in Berlin some German guy ripped Adolf Hitlers wax head off. WTF? Laughing my ass off. It's the talk of the town today. Guess he had it coming to him. ha. The guy is from Kreuzberg, my neighborhood here in Berlin. Guess all the freaks live here in Kreuzberg ๐
Click HERE to read more about Adolf's decapitation.
< Adolf wants head.
I did go to the Hard Cock Cafe last night to eat with the German Vogue journalist, who said she'd never been there. It was fucking LOUD (dumb idea for us to go there on the 4th of July I guess). The service was TOO good, know what I mean? They kept interrupting our conversation, which we had to SHOUT over the music, every 20 seconds. UGH. There is no happy medium here. It's either the waitresses are UP your ass or ignoring you. That place has gone down the fucking tubes. It used to have great food, music, service. Now it just has LOUD crappy music and loud bloated tourists on top of Ice Berg lettuce, which I loathe entirely.
We ate and headed over to the Hyatt hotel for some wonderful red wine. If you want excellent service, eat/drink at the 5 star hotels in Berlin. They HAVE to be nice to you and they have the best food/drinks ever. I eat at the Ritz, Hotel Rome and the Hyatt all the time. I am not a clothing snob (hate fashion) or jewelry snob, but I do spend a lot on good food and wine.
I suppose drinking wine with a journalist isn't a bright idea either. After a couple glasses of wine, things get personal and private information rolls off the tongue. Oooops. Lets hope she has a heart. heh heh. If not, oh well, I already have a room reserved in Hell anyways. JK.
Jasmine alerted me today she is in Sicily. Wot? Jeeze she gets around. When I was her age I was on tour with Frank Zappa. She is just on tour. Oh well, I hope she is safe. It can't be more dangerous than LONDON! I think I should stop watching the news, I get so freaked out over the horror stories happening over there. The two French students that were killed in their flat yesterday.. ugh. I had nightmares about that. The news sucks. Not sure if it's better to hide head in sand or watch the news. If you ignore it, you become ignorant, if you watch it, you become jaded and jumpy. No wonder so many people smoke grass. Being apathetic probably has it's benefits.
Recently I was asked to contribute to this book:
The Heavy Metal Book of Lists, to be published in Fall
2009 by Backbeat Books, an imprint of the Hal Leonard Corporation—with
a foreword written by Lemmy of Motörhead! The HMBOL is a follow up to
their recent Punk Rock Book of Lists, by Amy Wallace and Handsome Dick
Manitoba.
Just got done with my list. I listed 11 of the top Heavy Metal Bodies that I have massaged but now I realize I have forgotten a few. Dam. It's hard to decide. Naturally I can't reveal my list but I am just saying, it's going to be a good book. Can't wait for the release party. I was at the Punk Rock Book of Lists party: http://drdot.blog-city.com/nyc_december_2007.htm < click to read that blog… THAT party was the fucking BOMB. Here I am writing about all this current shit and I STILL have not finished my France and Italy blog. OMFG I feel like SHIT about that. It's nagging away at my conscience. It's on my mental lists of things to do, but with Berlin being so warm and fruity (there are trees in Berlin that smell so incredibly sweet and beautiful, the whole city smells amazing in the spring and summer here, it's intoxicating) it's hard to stay inside and concentrate on such a huge project. I will get it done soon, then I can move on and forget it. Wonder if all writers feel like that sometimes.
Off to bed to watch the Gene Simmons ROAST on iTunes. yes!
It's always fun to drop by Arturo's loft. After all, I have been dropping by in and sleeping over at Mr. Vega's lower East Side place since I was 15 years old. Artie always has new Ramones goodies, like these expensive collector's item skulls below. He is the Art Director of the Ramones and designed every Ramones album ever made, even the famous eagle with baseball bat logo on the skull at the right, in the picture below.
If you are really curious about Arturo and haven't heard of him before, just google: Arturo Vega. He is famous amongst the Ramones fans and alumni, etc. They signed their first ever record contract in his loft, so it's legendary and still an exciting place to hang. To know Artie is to love him.
The loft is adorned with numerous art pieces by various artist, like Dee-Dee Ramone for example. He had a wild imagination, as you can see from the paintings below:
When Dee Dee came to Berlin, he stayed at my flat with his then wife Barbara. They spent an absurd amount of time coloring in fact (with crayons!). Lots of fun indeed. Did you ever read Dee Dee's book "Lobotomy: Surviving the Ramones" ? He is so cute; didn't have enough funds to edit it, so it's unedited and hilarious!
Arturo (on the right) and his room mate James (middle) and his lovely sister (was visiting from San Fran)
Picture I took of a picture hanging on Arturo's bedroom wall ^ Johnny Ramone & Arturo YEARS ago. Look how HOT Arturo looks! He is older now, but still looks healthy, fit and much younger than he really is. Notice Johnny looks miserable, as usual.
So after hanging at the loft for a while, Arturo, Jasmine and I all went to a ^ book release party at the Alphabet City bar, 'Manitoba's' to honor the "Official Punk Rock book of lists" by Handsome Dick Manitoba & Amy Wallace. The party was packed with familiar faces and lots of ambitious artists, writers, photographers and other folks in the music & literary world. I found a review of the party online, click HERE to read it. Handsome Dick is also the singer of the Dictators and a radio personality.
( I HIGHLY recommend clicking that link to read their report of the event, it's much more thorough than mine ๐
Dick, me and his gorgeous British born wife, Zoe ^
Zoe is so incredibly sexy, you just get pulled in by her piercing blue eyes and luminous skin, then she seals the deal with her charming English accent and contagious smile. She was "thrilled" to meet me and shrieked loudly when introduced "Dr. Dot!? I know you, I've read your column for AGES! I LUV YOU Dr. Dot!" and proceeded to whisk me around, introducing me to new people and people that already knew me, but I didn't know yet, like Eric, the Managing Editor of Penthouse Forum/Girls of Penthouse, who reminded me we already know each other from a 2 hour phone interview for a piece the Penthouse Forum did on me a year or two ago. "oooooh, I forgot about that" I sheepishly admitted.
Me and Eric Danville ^
Eric told me it's ok to spill the beans, to pass on the great news, that as of May, my sex/relationship column, "Ask Dr. Dot" can be found monthly in the Penthouse Forum. I am over the moon about this. This certainly helps ease the pain of having my naughty column let go from the NY Press thanks to their new, wholesome (word:Boring) image. Sigh. Penthouse Forum, here I come.
I got to chat with Mike Edison, Senior Editor of Backbeat Books and Hal Leonard Books, which was a thrill. The man is legendary. You couldn't swing a cat without hitting a cool, connected New Yorker. I should go out with Arturo more often, it's so fun and there are always great folks around. I do admit I spend too much time at karaoke bars, whoring the mic. Karaoke WHORE!
The legendary Photogrpaher, Leee Black Childers (yes, it's with 3 "eee's) and Zoe ^
Click HERE to read ALL about Leee and his part of Punk & Rock and Roll history… Speaking of history, Zoe doesn't hesitate to let you know she is an ex-PORN star who is working on her memoirs. Maybe even a reality show. She's so attractive, I'm sure many would tune in. SCHWING!
< Leee, on the left, was HOT when he was a young man.
It was GREAT to see my pal Monte again. I have known him (And Arturo) since I was 15. Monte, in case you don't know, was the Ramones road manager. He kept everything sane & as organized as possible on the road. He was always on the ball! I haven't seen Monte for a couple years (last time was at a party for Joey's Birthday celebration at CBGB's in 2002) yet the first thing Monte says to me when he saw me was "why did you remove me from your myspace top friends!??". LMFAO, that's so funny, myspace is taking over. "you're still in MY top friends!!" he continued. "Ok, ok, I rotate my top friends, but I promise to have you back up there by tomorrow" I swore to him. I made another snide remark about how I find it totally UNFAIR that his book "on the road with the Ramones" does NOT include my name at ALL. How could that be? I was dating Joey for 3 years and hardly ever missed a weekend show! (had to go to school Monday – Thursday, skipped Fridays to be with my Punk God). Well, we all know why I am not mentioned. I was only 15 when I started seeing Joey (I told them ALL I was 19). This seems kinda creepy now, but it wasn't back then, I looked 19, acted 19 and so, to them, I was 19. Anyways. What's done is done, I'm not in the dam book! Fine. I will just write about it in mine (again). Snap ๐
Close up of Monte's jacket. I'm sure it's a collectors item…
Many more pics from the party can be seen HERE
I do have lovely pictures of Jasmine, but she's banned me from posting any pics of her and even mentioning her. I will get my face ripped off for even mentioning her name in this blog. Sigh. Trying as hard as I can to NOT write about my lovely, talented, honest, intelligent daughter, but I have to respect her wishes. Hoping you don't think I'm SOOOOO wrapped up in my business and activities that I forget my Jasmine; it's just the opposite, I wish I could post ALL the pics I have of her, she's so subtle, shy, humble and sweet; but she doesn't want it, so I can't. She isn't a camera hog like her mum. How can that be? We are the same at some points but completely opposite at others. I respect her completely and that's why you don't see a parade of Jasmine pics/videos.
Random shots I took whilst about town (town, I mean, CITY!). Isn't it funny when you say "I'm in the city" people still ask "what city?". I don't feel a slight bit of guilt when I say "THE city; NYC". If you haven't been to Manhattan, then you may not understand the sarcastic, presumptuous response.
Is it strange to be surprised when people ask "what city?" when you tell them you are "in the city" ? If you have never been to Manhattan, you may not understand that sarcastic, presumptuous response (THE city!)
The infamous ^ Jonesy in front of the 24/7 Apple store on 5th ave
Icy branches amuse me ^
I made another little video in Manhattan. Click HERE to see it
Times Square always makes for a good photo-op.
Not that I watch much TV (in Germany I NEVER watch any TV, don't even get one channel and if I did, I still wouldn't watch it) but here in the USA they are having a writers strike (enough already peeps, get the fuck back to work, be happy you have a job). TV sucks monkey balls at the moment, hence all the time for blogging. Animal Planet + Discovery Channel are the only things worth watching. "You and me baby ain't nothin' but mammals, so lets do it like they do it on the Discovery channel"
I get hundreds of emails from Ramones fans, all distraught at Monte Melnicks new book about the Ramones. How he reveals some not so nice secrets and “dirty habits” of Joey and Dee-Dee. He conveniently forgot to mention my name at all ( he said it was because I was underage when I was dating Joey, which is true, but hello? We were in love!)
